It served Nelson County and surrounding areas for 100 years, making it the oldest continuously operated jail in the state of Kentucky, and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
In 1988 it was purchased by the McCoy family and renovated into a family run Bed and Breakfast.
Since opening as a B&B, guests and staff alike have reported many strange goings-on in the old jail complex. One of the most common occurrences is the sound of phantom footsteps echoing around the rooms and hallways. Some other strange happenings include the sounds of crying, piano music, and disembodied voices!
