Old Joliet Prison Ghost Hunts
Are you ready to join us on an overnight ghost hunt at the infamous Old Joliet Prison, one of the most haunted places in Illinois?
Do you have what it takes to roam the dark corridors and empty rooms of this infamous prison?
First opened to prisoners in 1858, it’s had its fair share of nefarious events and notorious inmates. It was even featured in the 1980 hit movie, “The Blues Brothers,” the more recent television series “Prison Break,” and several other shows and films.
During its many decades of operation, there was an untold number of deaths here, including murders and beatings within several of the buildings. Lots of paranormal activity has been discovered, including the spirit of a prisoner who was dismembered in the old segregation building and the notorious murder of the warden’s wife during the early part of the 20th century, with the real culprit never determined.
Old Joliet Prison is without a doubt a menacing location that is certainly not for the faint of heart. Those of you brave enough to take on this infamous building with us can enjoy a whole night’s investigation, as we have exclusive access until 2 AM!
You’ll have the opportunity to investigate the most chilling and haunted buildings and areas, including the:
- Hospital,
- Chapel & School,
- North Segregation,
- Cafeteria,
- and East and West Cell Houses.
The Old Joliet Prison has a notorious history, having housed some of the most infamous criminals in American history. These include Richard Speck, the mass murderer who killed eight nursing students in one night; John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer and sex offender known as the “Killer Clown”; Baby Face Nelson, the bank robber who ran with the likes of John Dillinger; James Earl Ray, the assassin of Martin Luther King Jr.; and Leopold and Loeb, the wealthy students who committed a “thrill kill” in an attempt to commit the perfect crime.
These infamous inmates have left an indelible mark on the prison, contributing to its eerie atmosphere and reputation for paranormal activity. Over the years, visitors and investigators have reported a wide range of unexplained phenomena. Singing, screaming, yelling, and humming have been heard echoing through the empty corridors. Strange noises, shadows, and weird lights have been witnessed, often accompanied by a chilling sense of unease.
Perhaps most intriguingly, there have been numerous instances of incredible spirit communication. In multiple groups, investigators have received clear and direct responses to their questions, suggesting that the spirits of former inmates may still be lingering within the prison walls.
As we venture into the Old Joliet Prison for our ghost hunt, we can’t help but wonder: Who will come through this time? Will it be one of the infamous inmates, still serving their sentence in the afterlife? Or will it be an unknown spirit, eager to share their story with the living? Only time will tell.
Join us, if you dare, and be part of this thrilling paranormal investigation.
