The Historic Trivette Clinic, Hamptonville, North Carolina
Reputed to be one of the most haunted locations in Southeastern US
The Historic Trivette Clinic, in Hamptonville North Carolina, certainly looks the part as far as haunted locations go with its striking similarity to a home straight out of a horror movie.
Built by Dr. William Trivette in 1932, it served as a hospital until his death just 6 years later. Upon his death, the building became an alcohol detox center, then a little later it served as a nursing home until the late 1950’s. It’s also been used as a supper club, a private residence, and more recently as office space.
A host of terrifying encounters have been reported over the years, with countless paranormal investigators claiming the place is infested with spirits. It’s believed there are over 70 known ghosts in total.
One of the spirits is believed to be a severely burned little boy about 4 years in age, who suffered his burns from falling into boiling liquid. His playful spirit likes to pull on guests’ clothing and roll objects around. His disembodied laughs and giggles have been caught, and his short fast footsteps have been heard running room to room.
There’s the ghost of a little girl that haunts the second floor, and the spirit of two nurses, Helen and Poly. A young girl spirit known as Majesty is known to frequent the basement, and the dark figure of a male spirit called Phillip has been seen looking out of the windows in the former Operating Room.
