Reported Ghosts of Union Cemetery, Easton

One of the most haunted cemeteries in the US, Union Cemetery in Easton, CT.

The White Lady is undoubtedly the cemetery’s most famous apparition. She has been sighted by numerous witnesses, even by the police force and firemen. Various photographs of her have appeared over time and even equally popular paranormal investigator Ed and Lorraine Warren have claimed to have captured her on film. Witnesses describe her as a lady with long, dark hair wearing a white nightgown and bonnet.  She is usually sighted along Route 59 but sometimes she can be seen on Route 111. A reported collision with the White Lady in 1993 left a vehicle dented.

According to legend, the White Lady was a murder victim who died in the 1940s. There are also rumors that she was mourning mother who is still searching for her long-lost daughter.

Another character which is considered a staple in Union Cemetery in Easton is “Red Eyes”. One person who was walking by the cemetery claimed to have seen a pair of red eyes peering at him from the bush. When he turned around to run, he heard footsteps following him. Paranormal investigators speculate that “Red Eyes” is the ghost of Earlie Kellog, the man who was said to have set afire to the street in 1935.

The cemetery’s long and frightening history has even led Ed and Lorraine Warren to write a book about it titled, “Graveyard”.
